Who are you?
Breeze Savvy Air Quality was launched in early 2023 by a multidisciplinary team of environmental engineers, public-health researchers, and indoor-air specialists who recognized a critical gap: Canadians spend over 90% of their time indoors, yet reliable, accessible guidance on indoor-air quality (IAQ) remains scarce. Our mission is to demystify air-quality science and empower individuals, families, and organizations across Canada to take measurable steps toward cleaner air.
We structure our content around three pillars: Measurement & Monitoring, Mitigation Strategies, and Community Action. Under Measurement & Monitoring, we provide in-depth tutorials on selecting, installing, and interpreting data from low-cost and professional-grade sensors—PM₂.₅, CO₂, VOC, radon, and mould spore detectors. Mitigation Strategies covers ventilation optimization, HVAC maintenance, portable air-cleaner selection, and green building materials. Community Action showcases successful Canadian campaigns—such as school-district filter upgrades in Ontario and anti-idling bylaws in Quebec—and offers toolkits for launching similar initiatives.
Our advisory board includes professors from UBC’s School of Environmental Health, engineers from leading Canadian HVAC firms, and public-health advocates from Health Canada. All articles undergo peer review and practical field testing in homes, offices, schools, and industrial settings. We also partner with local NGOs and municipalities to pilot citizen-science projects, aggregating anonymized sensor data into our national Air Atlas. Breeze Savvy is more than information—it’s a movement to secure cleaner, healthier air for every Canadian.
